The Story Behind Bubble Panda

I’m Scott, founder of Bubble Panda - a brand built to make it easy to make real bubble tea at home.

And like a lot of businesses, it started with a simple problem.

During lockdown one afternoon I realised how many of the small things we enjoy had suddenly disappeared. The things you normally don’t even think about.

For me, it was bubble tea.

Normally I’d just grab one from a shop. But everything was closed and nowhere was delivering. Something that used to be easy to get suddenly wasn’t.

I remember thinking,

I’d do anything for a bubble tea right now.

Then another thought hit me.

Why can’t you just make it at home?

So I started researching. Tapioca pearls, tea bases, fruit syrups - on paper it looked simple enough.

But when I actually tried making it, I realised pretty quickly that real bubble tea isn’t that easy to recreate.

Tapioca pearls were hard to find, the flavour balance took a lot of trial and error, and most ingredients on the market weren’t designed for people making bubble tea at home.

The whole process was far more complicated than it needed to be.

That’s when the idea for Bubble Panda started.

If it was difficult for me, it was probably difficult for everyone else too.

So I started thinking about a better solution.

What if everything you needed to make great bubble tea at home came in one simple kit?

Something straightforward. Something fun. Something anyone could use.

What began as experiments in my kitchen slowly started turning into something bigger.

As the idea grew, my sister Nathalie joined me and we began building the brand together - developing flavours, designing our kits and testing ways to make bubble tea simple and enjoyable for people at home.

From the start we didn’t want Bubble Panda to feel like just another drink product.

Bubble tea is colourful, social and fun. It’s something people enjoy together.

So alongside classic milk teas, we began creating new flavour combinations - fruity blends and unique ideas inspired by flavours people already loved.

Behind the scenes, it quickly became a real family effort.

From packing early orders to taste-testing new drinks, everyone got involved.

At the same time life outside the business was moving just as quickly, which made the whole journey feel even more real.

But that’s what Bubble Panda has always been about.

Not just drinks.

Moments.

Moments where friends gather in the kitchen.
Where families make drinks together.
Where something as simple as bubble tea turns into a shared experience.

What started as a lockdown idea in my kitchen has now grown into one of the fastest-growing bubble tea kit brands in the UK, helping people across the UK and Europe make bubble tea at home.

And this is still just the beginning.
